DAISY was previously known as Yorkshire Dyslexia Network, until we joined Dyslexia Alliance Yorkshire (DAY) in 2024. We had been working with DAY for many years, so when the opportunity to join them became possible, we couldn’t wait.

I am Lisa Ryan, lead dyslexia specialist teacher and founder of DAISY.

I became a dyslexia specialist teacher in 2016. I started my dyslexia specialist teaching journey working for Dyslexia Action. I feel privileged to be able to help others to find the information they seek, reach their goals and realise how amazing they are.

Prior to my role at Dyslexia Action, I was a primary school teacher and special educational needs and disabilities coordinator (SENDCo). I loved being a school teacher and I still enjoy being invited into schools to teach small groups and whole classes.

I am so proud to be able offer advice to those who get in touch with DAISY and help arrange or direct them to the services and support they require.

DAISY is a team of specialist teachers, assessors and psychologists working in partnership as consultants.

We are passionate about providing support, assessment, teaching and training to children, parents, adults, educational settings and workplaces.

We are qualified and experienced in supporting individuals with dyslexia and/or other specific learning difficulties. We all hold Enhanced DBS checks and are registered with PATOSS, DBS or HCPC. We regularly attend local and national qualification up-dates and conferences.
